Badminton has given Wakefield mum
Emma so much more ‘ bounce' that now she jogs to the sessions and back.
Wakefield way2go coordinator Greg Biggs says Emma was introduced to Badminton by a friend and loves the fun and laughter
they have.
"She gets really absorbed in the game
and finds herself zoning out when she plays," Greg says.
Emma is doing yoga, walking and cycling as well, but it's badminton that she
says is the best ‘de-stressor' of all. Her agility has also improved and the
extra spring in her step has turned Emma into a jogger, from a plodder.
Emma has passed on her enthusiasm to her friend Louise. Louise says it's great
to be able to turn up to play badminton -
the equipment is all set out,
and she plays at a time when her house is usually ‘crazy' with kids. As
well as the social side of the game, Louise noticed her reflexes
improved and she found the activity complemented her pregnancy.
Around thirty people play at the Way2Go Badminton sessions held at the Brightwater Village Hall on Tuesday and
Wednesday nights.
